Brain Tabs is built for people who value focus over friction. We collect only what we need to make the app work, we never sell your data, and we never use it for advertising.
What we collect
Brain Tabs collects the following information:
Email address — when you sign in using a magic link. We use your email to authenticate you and associate your data across devices.
Task data — the tabs (tasks) you create, including their titles, sizes, and status. This is stored locally on your device and, if you are signed in, synced to our servers so you can access it across devices.
AI interactions — when you use AI features (such as "I'm stuck" or AI sort in Brain Dump), the content of the relevant task(s) is sent to our AI provider to generate a response. We do not store these interactions on our servers.
Purchase information — subscription status is managed by RevenueCat. We do not store your payment details.
Device token — if you enable push notifications, your device token is stored to deliver reminders. It is not shared with third parties.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond providing the Brain Tabs service.
Third-party services
Brain Tabs uses the following third-party services to operate:
Anthropic (Claude API)Powers AI features. Task content is sent to Anthropic when you use "I'm stuck" or AI sort. Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
ResendDelivers magic link sign-in emails. Your email address is passed to Resend for delivery. Subject to Resend's Privacy Policy.
RenderHosts our backend infrastructure. Your data is stored on Render's servers in the United States.
Data storage and retention
Your task data is stored locally on your device and, if you are signed in, on our servers (hosted by Render in the United States). We retain your account data for as long as your account is active.
If you delete the app without an account, all local data is removed from your device. If you have an account and wish to delete your data, contact us at the address below and we will remove it within 30 days.
Children's privacy
Brain Tabs is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. If you are in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Brain Tabs after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
